Tecnimont ha secured a contract with Repsol for the development of two advanced polymer units at the Sines Industrial Complex in Portugal. This project is a significant expansion for Repsol and represents the largest industrial investment in Portugal in the last decade. The contract involves the construction of a Polypropylene Unit and a linear Polyethylene Unit, each with a capacity of 300,000 tons per year. These units will utilize state-of-the-art technologies to ensure maximum energy efficiency and adhere to the highest environmental standards, marking them as the first of their kind in the Iberian Peninsula.

The project encompasses several phases, starting with detailed engineering and procurement of equipment and materials. This is followed by the construction and installation of the units. The optional final phase includes commissioning and start-up, ensuring that the new units are fully operational and integrated into the existing industrial complex.

For Portugal, this project signifies a major industrial milestone, enhancing the country's technological infrastructure and contributing to economic growth by creating quality employment opportunities. For Repsol, it solidifies their commitment to expanding their petrochemical capabilities while adhering to sustainability goals. The advanced polymer units will enable Repsol to produce high-quality plastic materials for specialized applications, positioning the Sines Industrial Complex as one of the most advanced in Europe.

The project emphasizes high environmental standards, aiming for maximum energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact. The integration of cutting-edge technologies is pivotal in achieving these goals, ensuring that the new units operate within the best environmental practices.
