Tecnimont has secured a monumental USD 8.7 billion contract from ADNOC for the onshore portion of the Hail and Ghasha gas development project in Abu Dhabi. This marks the largest award in the group's history and underscores Tecnimont's leadership in executing complex, large-scale projects.
The primary challenges of this project include managing the scale and complexity of integrating advanced technologies to achieve net-zero emissions, coordinating extensive logistics, and maintaining stringent safety and environmental standards.

The Hail and Ghasha project is expected to generate substantial economic benefits for Abu Dhabi, including the creation of thousands of jobs during the construction phase and hundreds of permanent positions post-completion. This project will significantly boost the local economy and enhance the local supply chain, benefiting numerous businesses and suppliers.
This development project is crucial for enhancing the UAE's energy security by providing a stable and reliable source of natural gas. It represents a strategic move to ensure a continuous and efficient energy supply for the nation.

A key feature of the project is the goal to operate with net-zero emissions. This involves incorporating advanced carbon capture and hydrogen recovery solutions, which align with the UAE's commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and promoting sustainable industrial practices.

The engineering and procurement activities will be executed by several dedicated teams in Europe, India and the UAE, under the central coordination of MAIRE’s Milan headquarters. The scope of work includes two gas processing units, three sulphur recovery sections, the associated utilities and offsites as well as export pipelines.

The project places a strong emphasis on health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards. This includes implementing stringent safety protocols to protect workers and minimize environmental impact throughout the project lifecycle.
