- As part of MAIRE group’s Scholarship and Fellowship programs, Tecnimont Private Limited (TCMPL) will collaborate with Vivekanand Education Society (VES) and Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI) in Mumbai to promote academic excellence in engineering
- The company will support 24 talented students also by providing mentoring and lectures on specific energy transition topics
We are proud to announce that through our Indian subsidiary Tecnimont Private Limited we have signed a collaboration with two esteemed engineering institutes in Mumbai, Vivekanand Education Society (VES) and Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI) to foster innovation in the energy transition space through our Group’s Scholarship and Fellowship programs.
As part of this initiative, TCMPL will support meritorious students, ensuring equal gender representation. For the current academic year, 10 scholarships have been activated for 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students of Automation and Robotics department at VES Institute of Technology, focusing on early engagement on energy transition topics.
Additionally, TCMPL, in collaboration with VJTI, provides annual research grants to support 12 Master of Technology students and 2 PhD students in the Department of Energy Security & Sustainability, specifically within the disciplines of Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical Engineering.
The project's topics, screened by MAIRE’s technical team, range from the analysis of sustainable solutions for cement production and blast furnace combustion by-products, to the study of hydrogen storage and transport materials which reduce hydrogen leakage. Quarterly review meetings with faculty and company mentors are also scheduled for students.
These selected students will benefit from the guidance of MAIRE’s technical team, enhancing their academic and professional growth. In addition to the research grants, TCMPL will host a series of Industrial Oriented sessions at both VES Institute of Technology and VJTI. These lectures are designed to bridge the gap between industry and academia, providing students with precious insights and practical knowledge which complement their classroom learning. By relating theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios, TCMPL aims to prepare the next generation engineers for the dynamic challenges of the industry.
Sathiamoorthy Gopalsamy, TCMPL’s Managing Director commented: “As part of the MAIRE’s Sustainability strategy, this initiative showcases TCMPL’s commitment to nurture talent and foster innovation within the engineering community. These initiatives generate a positive impact on the community and facilitate more equitable and widespread access to higher education opportunities.
We believe that through these collaborative efforts, we can significantly contribute to the development of skilled engineers who will drive the future of our industry while giving us the opportunity to connect with the next generations of talented engineers”.
