January 2021 - In November 2020, Tecnimont successfully delivered three valves, 56 and 45 inches and actuators manufactured in Italy to the Amur Gas Processing Plant project site in the Russian Federation. These components were key for the energization of the plant within the time frame agreed with the client.
The global pandemic that broke in early March led to manufacturing delays, but thanks to close coordination between the supplier and Tecnimont team, the valves were ready to be shipped.
To make up for lost time, the project team applying their best organizational skills was able to compress a land transport operation that usually takes 35 days into 12 hours, by hiring the biggest carrier available, the heavy cargo plane Ilyushin-76.
During the journey, due to thick fog, the planned route from Milan - Malpensa to a technical stop in Kazan changed twice in just a few hours. In a last-minute diversion, thanks to close planning and coordination from all parties involved, finally the heavy cargo load arrived at its destination Ignatvevo Airport, in Blagoveshchensk, then it reached AGPP site via a land journey.
This excellent result was made possible by the strong commitment of Tecnimont project team who with innovative thinking, great resilience and expertise faced this challenge without losing sight of the final goal and transforming obstacles into new solutions.
