Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, last December 2020 our team at Rapid P27 Project site in Pengerang, Johor (Malaysia) achieved “Ready for Start Up” successfully in the Flexi High Density Polyethylene unit. RAPID P27 includes a FLEXI High Density Polyethylene unit, based on the Lyondell-Basell licensed technology named Hostalen Advance Cascade Process (HACP®), designed to produce 400,000 t/y. The specialty of this technology is enabling the production of an extensive range of different HDPE pellets by means of 2 dedicated production lines. The Project is owned by PRefChem (a joint venture between PETRONAS and Saudi Aramco) and awarded to Tecnimont in joint venture with China Huanqiu (HQC).

This significant achievement has been reached thanks to the extraordinary commitment, focus and dedication of our team in Pengerang, with the full support and dedication of the teams in Milan, Kuala Lumpur, Beijing and Mumbai. Another great example of Tecnimont’s and HQC’s resilience.
