Omsk (Russian Federation), January 2021 - JSC Gazpromneft – Omsk Refinery continues commissioning activities at the Delayed Coking Unit (DCU) construction site. Tecnimont team succeeded in energizing electrical equipment and performing motor solo run tests. The unit under construction is part of the delayed coking complex modernization program within Omsk Refinery. Once the project is delivered, the Refinery will benefit cutting the environmental impact in half and increasing the oil refining efficiency. The Gazprom Neft’s investments in the unit construction total to 50 billion rubles.
With the delayed coking facilities upgraded, Omsk Refinery will achieve the crude oil processing yield of almost 100% - equal to best world practice. The new technologies will allow for an increased fuel production and delivering high-quality raw materials for the aluminum industry. As soon as the electrical installation works are completed, the power and water utilities of the production facility will be tested and commissioned.
Tecnimont Project Management commented: “Energizing DCU electrical equipment was aided by modern digital management tools. This gave the project team a chance to coordinate the personnel and manage the key processes remotely. The site activities were performed nonstop in effective coordination with Gazprom Neft specialists and finished as scheduled.”
